After Mugrose Construction walked away from the Fresh Pond Road-Metropolitan Avenue bridge reconstruction project around Thanksgiving 2017, the prospect of getting things moving again were looking grim. However, after pressure from elected officials, DOT kicked things into high gear earlier this year and in March announced that Beaver Construction, a company with a solid history of undertaking projects of this magnitude, had been chosen to replace Mugrose. The new projected date of completion is November 2018.
