Plans have been filed to build an apartment house at 66-73 79th Place. The structure will be 29 feet tall with 10,816 square feet of space, and 11 housing units with 11 parking spaces. This will replace a two-family home. This parcel is zoned R5. Council Member Robert Holden has contacted the Department of City Planning to ask that the area be contextually zoned to prevent more of this in the future. He is also working on getting a new text amendment enacted that would protect one family rowhouses throughout the city.
