Brooklyn Eagle February 22, 1897 • Maspeth, L.I., February 22 – Complaint has been made against Henry Bosse, the horse bologna man, to the Newtown board of health on account of the alleged unsanitary condition of his place. Bosse has been carrying on business in the town of Newtown for over six years and during that time the health board had received frequent complaints regarding him He declares that the present one is not well founded. At his hearing before the health authorities on the last complaint, Bosse testified that during his six years business in Newtown he had killed 25,000 horses.
