During the month of July, we saw the kickoff of our annual concert series – but we also saw a lot of rain. First up on July 10th, country music fans kicked it up with Nash East. On the 24th, Italian Night took place and there was a lot of dancing, singing and having a good time. Many thanks to Tenor Elio Scaccio, Soprano Julia Anna, the Chris Cuvier Trio, and the MAM Production and Sound Company. We went totally ‘80s on the 31st with throwback crowd pleaser, White Wedding. A great time was had by children and adults alike during National Night Out Against Crime on August 7th. There were rides and games, and lots of crime prevention info. Unfortunately, a crazy lightning storm prevented the nostalgia band, Generations, from performing, but they were invited back on August 14th and everyone enjoyed the show. The smooth sounds of Andy Cooney and his World Famous Irish Band, after being rained out on July 17th, were soaked in at Irish Night on August 21th. The concert series was sponsored by the NYC Parks Department, Council Member Robert Holden, Juniper Park Civic Association, the Juniper Valley Park Conservancy, Queensboro UNICO, Crifasi Real Estate and Barosa Restaurant. We look forward to planning the 2019 lineup and having everyone return to the park for these great community events.
