Word came in August that a major eyesore on Cypress Avenue in Glendale would become 88 units of senior housing. The social service organization PSCH (now Well Life Network) had been in the midst of building a similar project in 2004 when it was discovered that their contractor used shoddy materials. The site was shut down and the shell of the building became a blight on the community. There is no timeline for the completion of the proposed project as it is expected that the group will need a variance to build, but it’s something to look forward to as there are many seniors in the area who desperately need affordable housing.
