On Saturday, September 22nd at 10am, the Newtown Historical Society will be leading a Maspeth walking tour, stopping at historic sites and points of interest along the way. Learn the history of the area from its Native American beginnings to its settlement by Europeans in 1642 to the present day. Optional lunch will take place at a local restaurant at the conclusion of the tour (not included in tour price). Maxine Fisher has arranged a free nature tour of Mount Olivet Cemetery on Saturday, October 6th at 9am. Expert birder Rob Jett will lead the tour.
