With great sadness, we share that Roy S. Mooney passed away in his 76th year on 12/21/24.

Roy was born in Brooklyn but was raised on 84th Street in Middle Village (also the home of his Grandparents who purchased it when it was built in 1932).  Roy went to PS 49 and later to Newtown High School.  He enlisted in the Coast Guard and served aboard the USCGC Eastwind and later the USCGC Sherman.  Upon his returning home from the service, he lived on Long Island.  In the late 70’s Roy returned to the family home in Middle Village.  He had a long career with Xerox Corp.  Roy earned a Black Belt in Taekwondo and loved riding his motorcycle.  He loved to draw.

Roy leaves behind his loving wife June of 41 years, his son Michael, daughter Kimberly, two stepdaughters June and Kim, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

His purpose in life was to make people laugh and he more than achieved that goal.
Fair winds and following seas.
Semper Paratus.
