Greetings to all,
This year just got started and it’s already been a whirlwind on local, state, and national levels. New York truly is the City That Never Sleeps, and now that seems more so than ever. This is an excellent quarterly magazine, but it only represents a snapshot in time. This is why it’s important to not only read up on what’s happening in our community but also to attend our Town Meetings. They take place six times a year and fill in the gaps between Berries. At our meetings you will find out the latest legislative goings on in Albany, at City Hall and in Washington, DC directly from the people representing us. You will hear about things that don’t make the news – quality-of-life issues that seem small in the grand scheme of things but tend to make a big impact on us locally. From building demolitions to new regulations to crime patterns – we want you to be up to date on everything, which will help us all protect our great neighborhoods. Informed citizens are better able to understand complex issues, make decisions, and hold their representatives accountable. This helps to ensure that democracy functions properly.
I hope to see you March 20.
