Conspicuously absent from the October 25th meeting of CURES (Civics United for Rail Environmental Solutions) was Assembly Member Margaret Markey. Although no one was surprised by her absence since she hasn’t attended any of the many meetings on the railroad issues. However what many found surprising was Markey’s fall newsletter which boasted her involvement on the rail issues. Although Markey represents the majority of residents in Middle Village living next to the rail corridor, she felt she didn’t have to attend any meetings on rail issues. She was quick to take credit for it however, shameless!
