Ten years ago, DEP completed a sewer project along 80th Street between Caldwell and 58th Avenues. The roadbed was not repaired properly resulting in it sinking. This caused a lot of problem for motorists and homeowners along that block. The DOT is planning to undertake a capital project to fix the problem which is currently in the design phase, but construction is not expected to start until 2020. I the meantime, after pressure from Council Member Holden's office and the civic, DOT dispatched a resurfacing crew to mill and repave 80th Street in early March.
