Years ago, when the LIE through our area was widened, a paving material was chosen that has caused an increase in ambient noise. The road here is paved with concrete, while the rest of the LIE is paved with asphalt, which is much quieter. If you live in close proximity to the LIE, you hear white noise constantly. State Senator Joe Addabbo, Assembly Member Marge Markey and Congress Member Grace Meng are aware of the issue and they are working on a solution along with JPCA board member Tony Nunziato.
