Birders have noticed the recent return of 3 winter bird species to our area. Dark-eyed Juncos, White-throated Sparrows and Black-capped Chickadees have been making appearances at our local cemeteries, parks and backyard feeders. One of their favorite spots is under the trees near the Pullis Farm Cemetery in Juniper Valley Park. They'll likely stay until spring comes around again. So next time you notice a flock of sparrows, take a close look because some of them might turn out to be something else entirely.
