Hello everyone! Here we are winding up another year of Juniper Berry publications. Can’t even estimate the number of people that I meet that tell, me how much they love this magazine and how they read it from cover to cover. And you are all encouraged to write for the Berry and send your news to Killy’s Korner. And since it is the last issue for 2015, I want to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a healthy happy New Year!

The Middle Village Kiwanis had their 3rd Annual Awards dinner at honored three individuals who contribute to the vitality and well-being of our community. This year’s honorees were Sal Crifasi, J.P. Di Troia & Frances Passantino. MV Kiwanis president Al Gentile did a great job as usual.

Lorraine Sciulli received a Community Board Service Award in recognition of her 20 years of service. We thank Lorraine for her commitment to our neighborhood and we wish her many more active years serving on CB 5, where you can see first hand if there are any negative threats to our beautiful neighborhood looming in the wings.
Lynn & Larry Roth of Middle Village celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on a Royal Carribean Quantum of the Seas cruise to the Bahamas with their children, and grandchildren. Congratulations Lynn and Larry!

The grandson of Lorraine and John Sciulli, Andrew Mougis Jr., was married on September 5th to his beautiful bride, Kelly Campion. We wish Andrew & Kelly the best of luck and happiness into their future and may they always stay as happy as they looked on their wedding day.
This news in from Ben Schiff from St. Adalbert’s: Veronica Holley was honored by the members of the Secular Franciscan Order at St. Adalbert RC Church. MS Holley promised to live the Gospel Life fully in the spirit of St. Francis in the network of a fraternity of men and women.
Congratulations to Eugene Cassidy of Ridgewood who was ordained as a Deacon recently. Eugene is a member of the Secular Franciscan Fraternity of St. Adalberts Roman Catholic Church. He will be asigned to Holy Family Parish under Pastor Fr. Casper Furnari, OFS.

Lisa and Timothy Banoff of Middle Village are the proud parents of twin girls. Shea Marie and Evie Grace were born on Sept. 22 and yes they are NY Mets fans already.
We are sad to report that Msgr. Peter Zendzian, former pastor of Holy Cross Church and a Maspeth native, passed away on October 23rd. Msgr. Zendzian had joined the priesthood in 1979 and had served as pastor of Holy Cross from 2000-2013. He also had been a priest at St. Margaret's parish in Middle Village early on in his ministry and was pastor at St. Matthias in Ridgewood at the time of his death.
And finally, helping my knees to recover from a long hospital stay earlier this year is Ryan Martin, owner of ProMet on Metropolitan Avenue. And while there I met another familar face, JPCA President Bob Holden. Ryan is helping his back recover from hours working on the Juniper Berry.
