The Middle Village sewer project dragged on for 4 years and unfortunately resulted in more than a new sewer. A lot of homeowners were left with damaged property in the project’s wake. Only about half of the claims to CAC Industries’ insurer were settled, and there has been no transparency in the compensation process. Council Member Holden sent a letter to the NYC Department of Design and Construction, which previously oversaw the construction, to ask them to audit the project and they are currently reviewing the rejected claims.
