Jumaane Williams, while in the midst of a second run for public advocate, announced that he was planning to run for governor. How does someone run for two offices at the same time? He waited until after the election to make an “official” announcement, but this is quite an insult to the voters of New York City. What he basically did was put us all on notice that he plans to keep his current seat warm for about a year, and should he actually win the governor’s race, he’ll be moving up to Albany. If this isn’t dumb enough keep in mind that he is one of the largest voices in favor of police defunding, yet for some reason he lives on an army base patrolled by armed guards.
