The work on the roadbed of the Long Island Expressway was supposed to be completed at the end of 2017, but winter operations have caused the DOT to delay the work. Assembly Member Brian Barnwell has been in touch with DOT and reports that there is no definitive timeline for completion. This is causing some sleepless nights for people living in the vicinity of the expressway. Once it is finally done we will all rest easier as the purpose of the work is to reduce noise coming from the traffic that passes through.
