Juniper Valley Park technically closes at dusk, which in winter is around 4:00 PM. However, in January, it was noticed that the comfort stations were closing at 3.30 PM. Many kids are in the park at 3:30, as this is afterschool time, and many seniors are also using the park at this hour. We were informed by Parks that there is a staff member in the park on a daily basis from 8:00am-4:30pm, but he had taken vacation and was being covered by a seasonal worker whose shift was 7:30am-3:30pm. A volunteer from JPCA offered to lock up the bathrooms at 4pm if he were given the key on days when the regular staff was not available. We are waiting to hear Parks’ decision.
