A beer bottle removed from the back pocket of a rapist by a victim during an attack in Forest Park yielded DNA evidence that allowed police to track down a suspect in 6 attacks that took place during 2011-2013. Mark Andrade of Richmond Hill has been charged with Attempted Rape, Robbery (he took one victim’s cell phone), Assault, Attempted Predatory Sex Assault, Sex abuse and Criminal Possession of a Weapon for using a stun gun. Police matched the DNA from the crime scene to Andrade’s as he was ordered to provide a sample after a Rockville Centre grand larceny arrest in 2015 which was entered into a statewide searchable database.
