John Browne immigrated from Kanturk, County Cork, Ireland and was the proud proprietor of the Grandstand Bar & Restaurant, on Grand Avenue in Elmhurst. He was the beloved husband of Christina Hayes, loving father of Denis Browne, Mark Browne, Michael Browne, Maureen DeNicola and the late John Browne, cherished grandfather of CJ, Kyle, Nicholas, Connor, Reilly, Logan, Andrew and Ryan, great-grandfather of Colin and Kaylee, and dear brother of Billy, Michael, Tadg, Anthony, Marian and the late Christy, James and Denis. Mr. Browne was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam Era and a 46-year member and past president of the The County Cork Benevolent, Patriotic and Protective Association.
