Waterproofing scam
A waterproofing company is ringing bells of senior citizens in the vicinity of 73rd Street & 57th Avenue.
If someone rings your bell asking to do work or telling you there is a problem with your house, call 911 and the 104th Precinct will come and make sure the contractor is legitimate. NEVER hire a company that comes to your door looking for work.
Maspeth burglars sought
The couple pictured is sought for 2 burglaries in Maspeth, the first at a residence on 55th Drive on July 31st. They entered the property but were unsuccessful in gaining entry to the house despite using an unknown object on the door. The second burglary occurred on Aug 2nd on 56th Road. They entered a home through the front door and stole a Macbook and $250. Both incidents occurred during daytime hours. Cops are seeking a white male with a slim build and dark hair with a receding hairline; and a white female with a slim build and blond hair.
Cypress Hills Cemetery vandalism
On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, unknown perpetrators did gain entry into the Glendale Section of Cypress Hills Cemetery and vandalized numerous tombstones. The perpetrators also spray painted racial slurs throughout the cemetery before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Capture of a not-too-bright criminal
On Saturday, August 12th, at approximately 11:14 hours, a suspect was taken into custody inside 69-XX Grand Avenue for posting videos on Instagram which illustrated him engaging in conduct such as assaults, petit larceny and criminal mischief in Maspeth. His name cannot be released because he is a minor. This arrest was made as result from a tip from someone in the community.
McDonald's ATM skimmer
The New York City Police Department is asking the public's assistance identifying the individuals depicted in the attached surveillance photos in regards to a criminal possession of a forged instrument that occurred within the confines of the 104 Precinct. Details are as follows:
It was reported to the police that on Thursday, July 27, 2017 between 0910 hours and 1900 hours two individuals entered the McDonald’s restaurant, located at 69-50 55 Road, where they installed a skimming device and a false panel with an attached camera to an ATM that was inside the location. The individuals fled the location in an unknown direction.
Individual 1: male, White, approximately 20-30 years of age, last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black short sleeved shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
Individual 2: male, White, approximately 20-30 years of age, last seen wearing a grey sweat jacket, black short sleeved shirt, dark colored shorts, Nike sneakers and light colored baseball hat.

Eliot Avenue convenience store robbed
The Eliot Convenience Store, located at 84-54 Eliot Avenue, was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight this past June 17th. The clerk on duty was shaken up but no one was physically injured. The 104th Pct Detective’s Squad is looking for the suspect, who may have left DNA evidence behind. Anyone with information for police is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. You can also text CRIMES and enter Tips 577 to contact an investigator. You can remain anonymous, and there is a $2,500 reward if your information leads to an arrest.
Gas station robbery pattern
On September 24th, two area gas stations were held up at gunpoint 30 minutes apart.
At 1:30am, a clerk at the BP station located at 59-36 Maurice Ave had a gun pointed at him by 2 black males, who initially pretended to be shopping for items. The robbers made off with $500.
Thirty minutes later, a very similar crime happened at the Mobil gas station located 69-08 Eliot Ave. A handgun was again displayed by 2 black males after they had brought merchandise up to the counter and $1,000 was removed from the register. The suspects fled in a black hatchback.
The 104th Precinct Detective Squad continues to investigate.
