At our March Town Meeting, we honored John Russo, NYPD Lieutenant Commander – Detective Squad, whose keen intuition helped crack the Karina Vetrano case. As mentioned in the Spring 2017 Juniper Berry, Russo grew up in Maspeth, attending local schools and frequenting Juniper Valley Park and still has family here. JPCA would like to bestow the “Hero Award” more frequently onto deserving members of the community and John has volunteered to help us choose the worthiest candidates.
