These are some screenshots from a Facebook post from July 4, 2023. We would like to avoid a repeat of this bedlam during the upcoming holiday. This gets dumber every year and some people are going so far as to call this a “tradition,” but this is extremely dangerous, not to mention that closing the LIE service road causes quite a traffic nightmare. We understand that NYPD can’t respond to every group of kids setting off firecrackers, but this was particularly egregious. We alerted the 104th Precinct to this situation and they assured us that they will pay special attention to this area, as well as Juniper Valley Park, this July 4th.
