During the June 2017 JPCA meeting, several people were recognized for their service to our community. NY1 reporter Ruschell Boone was honored for her coverage of topics of concern ranging from illegal truck traffic to roofing scammers. She helped get back one scammed senior’s money earlier this year. Nick Comaianni was recognized for his many years as CEC24 president. He retired from the role at the end of the 2016-17 school year. NYPD Lieutenant and Maspeth native John Russo bestowed the Russo Hero Award on Jonathan Kulig of Glendale, who saved the life of a straphanger who had fallen onto the subway tracks back in April. And last but not least, Officers Matt Santos and Erica Rosalez were awarded for outstanding service to the community. We are fortunate to know you all.
