We are pleased to report that Acting Sanitation Commissioner Edward Grayson, a Middle Village resident and Ridgewood native, was officially named commissioner by Mayor de Blasio on December 31. He didn’t have much of a honeymoon in the job as we were socked with storm after storm that required some heavy logistical planning, but he passed Mother Nature’s test with flying colors. Thank you to all our DSNY workers who repeatedly salted and cleared the roads during the many snowstorms and then switched gears and hauled our trash away. Commissioner Grayson has been selected as an honoree for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade which is honoring First Responders and Essential Workers who have made enormous sacrifices this year.
