Greetings to all. As winter melts into spring, we need to focus on some very important issues. This year, we have across-the-board municipal elections. The policies pursued by the victors will shape our city for the next 4 years. We will elect a mayor, comptroller, public advocate, borough president and city council representatives and we must choose wisely. No more electing people who think we work for them and insult or ignore their constituents. It’s also time to reject candidates who like to pit one group or neighborhood against another. Times are tough, and we learned over the past year that while we don’t always agree on issues, living as a community means respecting and helping each other and working together.
