It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing in early March of Harry Lambros, owner of Harry’s Paint and Hardware on Eliot Avenue. Known for his unbridled friendliness, unfiltered speech and great sense of humor, Harry cultivated a loyal and devoted following of customers since opening his first store, Bil-Jac Paint in 1983, then later at Harry’s Paint and Hardware across the street. Harry lived on 70th Street in Middle Village his entire life and had been a familiar figure and beloved member of the community for decades. He was also very generous to the JPCA. He will be sorely missed in Middle Village and surrounding communities. Harry Lambros is survived by his wife of 50 years, Harriet, two children and several grandchildren.
